Precision at every stage of your project
Every Granite Installation worktop is made specifically for your home. From the moment we digitally template your kitchen through to final installation, every stage is carefully managed by our experienced team to ensure exceptional quality, precision and craftsmanship.
Step 1 — Digital Laser Templating
Your journey begins with a Digital Laser Template, carried out once your kitchen has been fully installed and is ready for worktops.
Using advanced digital measuring technology, our experienced template specialist will capture every dimension of your kitchen with millimetre accuracy. These measurements are then used to manufacture your worktops to the exact dimensions of your home, ensuring a flawless fit.
The template appointment is also your opportunity to finalise all the important finishing details. Together, we'll review your design and confirm every aspect of your project before manufacturing begins.
During your appointment we'll discuss:
- Drainer grooves
- Soft corners and corner radiuses
- Splashbacks and upstands
- Waterfall ends and mitred legs
- Island overhangs
- Any final design preferences
Our template specialist will also inspect your kitchen to ensure everything is ready for installation. If any additional preparation is required—such as extra supports for breakfast bars, large overhangs or waterfall ends—we'll explain exactly what's needed before manufacturing begins.
Preparing for Your Template Appointment
To ensure we can complete your template accurately and keep your project running on schedule, we kindly ask that your kitchen is fully prepared before our arrival.
Your kitchen should be ready with:
- Kitchen units fully installed and securely fixed
- Existing worktops removed (where applicable)
- Worktop areas clear of boxes, tools, packaging and other obstructions
- Safe and unrestricted access to all worktop areas
Please have the following items on site:
- Sink
- Tap
- Hob or cooker
- Pop-up sockets (if applicable)
- Any other accessories requiring cut-outs within the worktop
Having these items available allows our template specialist to take precise measurements, confirm manufacturer dimensions and record product codes where required. This ensures all sink, tap, hob and accessory cut-outs are manufactured accurately before installation.
Before leaving your property, we'll ensure:
- Every measurement has been digitally recorded
- All design details have been confirmed
- Any additional support requirements have been identified
- Manufacturing can begin without delays
Once your digital laser template has been completed, please do not move, adjust or alter your kitchen units, appliances or any structural elements that may affect the worktop layout.
Your worktops are manufactured directly from the measurements captured during the template appointment. Any changes made after templating—including repositioning units, adjusting walls, changing appliance locations or altering support structures—may affect the accuracy of the template and could require your kitchen to be re-templated before manufacturing can proceed.
If changes to your kitchen become necessary after your template appointment, please contact our team immediately before carrying out any work so we can advise on the best course of action.
Step 2 — Precision Manufacturing
Once your template has been completed, the digital measurements are converted into detailed CAD drawings before being sent directly to our manufacturing facility.
Using advanced CNC machinery and expert craftsmanship, your chosen granite, quartz, marble or porcelain worktops are precision cut, polished and hand-finished to the highest standards.
Every worktop is individually manufactured for your kitchen—never cut to standard sizes or taken from stock.
Step 3 — Quality Inspection
Before leaving the factory, every worktop undergoes a comprehensive quality inspection.
Each piece is checked for accuracy, finish and overall quality to ensure it meets the exacting standards expected from Granite Installation before being carefully prepared for delivery.
Step 4 — Professional Installation
Once manufacturing has been completed, our experienced in-house installation team will arrange a convenient installation date.
Every worktop is carefully installed, joints are professionally finished, and every detail is checked before we leave your home, ensuring a beautiful finish that's built to last.
Typical Lead Times
Most granite and quartz worktops are professionally installed within 5 working days of your digital laser template.
For porcelain worktops or projects featuring specialist edge profiles, additional manufacturing time may be required. In these cases, installation is typically completed within 7-10 working days following your template appointment.
Please note that manufacturing times may occasionally be extended during national bank holidays or seasonal shutdowns. Should this affect your project, we'll keep you fully informed throughout every stage of the process.
Why We Template Digitally
Unlike traditional plywood templates, digital laser templating provides exceptional accuracy, allowing us to manufacture every worktop to within millimetres.
This modern approach helps achieve:
- Greater accuracy
- Faster manufacturing
- Perfectly aligned joints
- Cleaner cut-outs
- Superior overall finish
It's just one of the many ways we ensure every Granite Installation project is completed to the highest possible standard.
